| | PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT | To join the conversation, become a member of the Oak Bay Local Facebook group | A crowβs nest in a precarious location | An Oak Bay local posted that they have a baby crow nestled in the corner of their chicken coop. The mom and dad crows were quite upset and were dive-bombing the commenter and their dogs in their back yard. They were looking for advice on who they could call to help retrieve it, or any advice on what to do. Commenters believed that the parents were likely protecting the juvenile until it was ready to fly. As for what to do about the situation, one commenter suggested covering their face and head before relocating the baby bird so the crows donβt remember them and teach others to attack! Another suggestion was to call WildARC for additional ideas. | |

| | | Little libraries in need of kids books | An Oak Bay local was looking for advice on where to bring their used kids books, and was wondering specifically whether there are any little libraries in South Oak Bay that could use them, and for which ages. One commenter said that St. Christopher's Montessori School-Oak Bay is always looking for books for their 3- to 5-year-old students, and even some for older age ranges. Another said that there is a little library for kids aged 5-12 in front of GNS junior school on Beach Drive, which is frequented by kids coming and going from camps throughout the summer. Others said there are little libraries on Bowker, Redfern Park, and on Transit near Beach. The Greater Victoria Placemaking Network also has a map of all of the local little libraries in the community. | |
