The small print orange signs popping up around town |
For some, their meaning is unmistakable, while others struggle to read the tiny print, with one Oak Bay local suggesting their presence can mean only one thing - a summer of discontent. They are construction signs, which could mean months-long detours and school run delays around Oak Bay through this summer. According to the signs, construction is poised to affect Cadboro Bay Road at side streets Bee, Cranmore Rd. and Monteith, Monterey Ave., and along Beach Drive at several side streets. While most agree that the work is long overdue, others are bracing themselves for the disruption, which is expected to last through to September. |

One Oak Bay local reached out to the group in search of solutions after their furnace broke, and an expensive replacement has them searching for alternatives. Several local companies came highly recommended and others said that they decided to go with a heat pump when faced with a similar situation.
